Reverand william rees

This is a booklet in English on a well-known Liverpool Welsh Minister in Victorian times William Rees known by his poetic name of Gwilym Hiraethog came to Liverpool in 1843 and retired in 1875. His grave is seen in Toxteth Cemetery and Dr Rees has led dozens of Welsh groups from Wales to the side of the grave to sing some of his best known hymns . He had a brother as a Welsh Presbyterian minister in Liverpool, Rev Henry Rees who came in 1835 and died as Minister of Chatham street Chapel in 1869 Both were incredibly powerful preachers while William Rees was a friend of British and European leaders –such as W.E .Gladstone, Kossuth and Joseph Mazzini.
